Deck Profile: Traditional Dark Worlds…

Really quick article for this week, I kind of had to scrounge it up at the last minute. This last week was finals and the day after finals was PAX, which was three days and now it’s Monday as I type. So, I made a deck for the traditional tournament, which was fun but decidedly underwhelming, and I figured that before I demolish the deck forever I can show it off a little. Look at you own risk, the deck is stupid broken and no fun to play against.

MONSTERS: (11)

  • 3 Grapha, Dragon Lord of the Dark World
  • 3 Snow, Unlight of the Dark World
  • 3 Broww, Huntsman of the Dark World
  • 1 Beiige, Vanguard of the Dark  World
  • 1 Sillva, Warlord of the Dark World

SPELLS: (22)

  • 3 Gates of the Dark World
  • 3 Dark World Dealings
  • 3 Dragged Down to the Grave
  • 3 Upstart Goblin
  • 1 Card Destruction
  • 1 Monster Reborn
  • 1 Foolish Burial
  • 1 Card of Safe Return
  • 1 Delinquent Duo
  • 1 Graceful Charity
  • 1 Pot of Greed
  • 1 The Forceful Sentry
  • 1 Confiscation

TRAPS: (7)

  • 3 Reckless Greed
  • 2 Mind Crush
  • 1 Eradicator Epidemic Virus
  • 1 Royal Oppression
  • 1 Dark Smog

EXTRA: (1)

  • Hieratic Sun Dragon Overlord of Heliopolis

That’s the deck I ran with. Unfortunately, I didn’t do too well, but it’s really hard to judge my success since almost nobody actually entered the Traditional and a lot more did the Advanced Format.

The basic gist of the deck was I would molest my opponent’s hand as soon as I possibly could using my immense draw power and already standard to Dark World hand touching cards. Then I’d ideally swarm 2 to 3 Grapha’s and attack for game. It worked, but essentially due to the nature of traditional and a case of horrible bad luck I ended up losing. I entered in two different ones. The first actually ended up being only me and my friend who came with me, Nate. He won the dice roll summoned a bunch of stuff and ended his turn with no cards in hand. I opened with a bunch of cards that discarded his hand as well as a bunch of Dragged Down, and it’s safe to say I lost. Game two I discarded his hand and swarmed turn one, then he went and passed then I won. Game 3 he goes first and uses Dark Strike Fighter to game me before I even go. Teehee. In the second tournament there was more people, but I got derped by a Fiber Jar and then drew the worst hand ever while my opponent luckily drew into Yata Lock ._______. And that’s how it happened.

That’s all I’ve got for today. Maybe next week some of my ideas with Chronomalys? Maybe not?
