You can only use the eff of durandal to neg if you have a s/t target for the opponent to pop
Or thats how it is on percy, but im not 100%
Matt: what do u think of a 36 monster trapless lightswarn deck. My traps always get hit by mst and i only ran 3 anyway then the 4 spells
I think that it would work great since the only thing that can pose a speed threat to lightsworns are bad draws and like…mermails? Maybe. Skill Drain still hurts and you’ll still have to get around all the things that plague monster decks, but its definitely possible to make something competitive with all of the options that exist.
Its really good, i accutually wreck mermailes but it sucks vs fire kings for some reason (they do main skill drain) and GK well im sure uve been there before. Heres the deck list, what do.you think

I like everything here, it all makes sense. From my experience, anything that can post good Normal Summons on the board encourages lightsworns to play cards early, so that they don’t give the opponent too much momentum while the graveyard is being filled.
Lightsworns don’t have stand alone Normal Summon monsters, so you rely on things like Trooper, Trag, and Necro Gardna to screen you as you build the graveyard. Lyla is good, but she doesn’t have enough attack to be a bother for more than a turn. Ryko is good, but slow to solve problems, and everything else that could help you out is at the mercy of the mill.
I like bein able to paster the opponet with cards they must stop in order keep themselves in the game. Like lyla, they lose a spell/trap no matter what when u summon it so they get to choose what one, and if they have no response well time to go to town. debris dragon forces them to make a play the moment u summon it or lose the entire board to a blackrose. Kidmodo is an amazing set stall monster, summon any of my dragons (minus JD) on there turn when they kill kidmodo to disrupt plays, its a debris target, a earth dragon, gets its effect off milling its just alota good. Ive won many a game with just dragon beat basically or janky lumina spam Otk’s with levair, lavaval chain, birdman ect.
