Pre-show greeting and banter shortened or put at the end of the main topic.
But I love the pre-show greeting and banter 🙂 😛
No you don’t. It’s all in your head.
Im with monotonyman on this one xD
No you’re not. It’s flowed out of his head and his desires are clouding your mind. It’s perfect logic.
Announcing, at the beginning of the episode, the date would be helpful considering it’s sometimes hard to tell when the podcast was recorded.
I know it seems like a very trivial thing but I’m a nitpicker 🙂
Thanks for your time.
Time the podcast is uploaded or when we’re recording?
Sorry for the late response D:
I meant the date you record the podcast 😛 It’s easy to know the date it was uploaded considering iTunes tells you that but sometimes it’s hard to tell when it was recorded considering Mat uploads the episode either a couple of days (or weeks :P) late so it’s sometimes hard to tell when it was recorded.
Thanks for your time!

(Read on the podcast) Hey guys, Kyle has repeatedly talked about the new TCG Exclusive, Mermail Abyssteus, and I am a player that ran Wind-Ups for a good couple of formats, and now have switched to GAM for the upcoming format, and was wondering you’re thoughts about it in the tier 1 retarded GAM decks, such as simple concrete combos and different situations where it would prioritize over an Abyssmegalo. I have faith in the card, as I already have my play-set. Thanks for all you three do!
Hey what’s up guys! What are your thoughts about Night Beam (NB)?Why not run 3 NB instead of 3 MST? With compulse, abyss sphere and even call of the haunted looking to punish a blind MST, why not just switch to NB all together?
I definitely see the benefit to siding it in game 2 and 3 when they don’t expect, but besides that I don’t know what downsides NB has to MST. Are there ruling out there that you could share with us? Like does it fizzle out if your opponent chains their MST to your NB?
Thanks in advance guys, take it easy!
MST has the benefit of being chain-able as well as being able to destroy face-up cards. Those are the main advantages. Especially in games 2 and 3 you’re more likely to be seeing continuous spell and trap cards because they’re more commonly sided than mained and Night Beam can’t hurt those. The chainability aspect makes it just about the same in effectiveness when working with Call of the Haunted and Abyss-Sphere as well, so in those instances MST is probably better since it more applications than just stopping those n it also lulls the opponent into thinking those cards will work so they invest when they might not be able to make a full play, which is favorable to you.
Rulings wise, if you Night Beam a card they can only not respond using that card to Night Beams activation, so if they can chain any other card they may have to Night Beam and, if they desire it, chain the card you targeted with Night Beam to the other card they activated. Ex you Night Beam there face-down Compulsory Evacuation Device, they chain MST and then chain there Compulsory you targeted. This is rarely relevant though because in order to do this the opponent has to commit a lot of cards just to activate there card.
Something about blind MST-ing: never ever do it. While this is only an opinion, I’ve learned it through experience. It’s never a good idea to give your duel over to luck if you don’t have to. Blind Night Beaming is virtually the same since it’s still a matter of luck which card you hit, so I would never do that either. For this reason Night Beam is almost always reserved for OTK decks that plan to play multiple Night Beams and MSTs in succession to destroy all the spell and traps on board, which in that instance cancels the problem of hitting the wrong card. So, if you’re running MSTs or Night Beams in a non-OTK based deck then it’s wise to save them until your opponent has 1 s/t face-down or the opponent plays a problem card that must be removed: Abyss-Sphere, Macro, Skill Drain, Tenki, Gates of the DW etc.
Hope that helped!
I realized I accidently left this as a comment on the PM system..my bad.
Hey ycg podcast, I was wondering if you could give me your advice.
You see I’l at a dilemma trying to figure out what to run with the format becoming that of E dragons, evilswarm, prophecy etc. These decks that may for the moment make it difficult to do well if you’re not running one of them. Along with decks using the Edragons in ways to increase their abilities. Basically it’s going to be a heck of a ride, and I wanna be ready for it.
I usually a Hero player, recently I’ve been using the Elektrum Otk style, not the nicest deck but it does well. Unfortunately however I believe this deck to have problems against E dragons, because it’s too slow, even with triple card car and triple maxx c. The E Dragons are difficult, and whats worse is ophion can sit there and nothing will happen. Soon people will be forced I believe to either become very fast, or very trap heavy. So I decided it was time to choose a new deck of choice. Speed wise it seems the main decks are E drags and prophecy for their ferociousness. Other decks are powerful and fast, but don’t really compare aswell. So I was thinking maybe a slower deck with a higher trap count, such as machina gadgets with an absurd amount of traps. I believe compulse will do very well. The only problem I forsee is that with Edrags and evilswarm people will be very likely to side electric virus, which is also good against machines. I’m not the type who likes using a deck that will be sided against.
The other deck I was considering was Madolches, as they are trap heavy aswell, and they will be faster will Hootcake, so it’s an option.
I have access to Glads, Formation Glads, Inzektors, Geargia, Heros of course, frogs, six sam. basically alot of good decks but nothing crazy good to make an obvious choice.
I was thinking that attack base decks like Glads I wasn’t sure how they would do being that they might fare well in killing ophion and not relying on larger monsters. Inzektors are always fun and powerful, and they could be made to be quicker..I’m not sure how prevalent however soul drain and macro will be with mermail still going about, especially now that they have potential with the water Edrag. Six sams I like their speed and strength..however they are too small, and if you try a slower trap heavy build the lack of speed makes them rather lame. Geargia are good, but like gadgets I worry about being how bad electric virus might be, unless you guys think otherwise? Frogs are always good, and thus they are always an option. I could focus on trying to make them faster maybe. Right now I’m trying to create a trap heavy build of Heros with focusing on gathering power from the triple miracle and triple super poly, also running triple photon thrasher with bubble beat style to make quick xyzs in case of ophion. It seems solid, but I wanted to ask for advice that maybe you guys could see a better solution.
Thank you very much for your consideration, big fan of the podcast, keep up the good work.
Why do you guys think more people dont play gravekeepers they seem at least in theory to have a pretty decent match up vs both the top decks, they can easily main EEV and Royal tribute plus necrovalley basically wins instantly vs dragons as well.
Also I emailed you guys about wind ups last week but I guess you didnt see it, I was asking what you guys thought of them and if they had potential to be decent still and what some of the cool combos were that they could still do.
Ive been having problems with posting a new topic in the forums, when i click submit i get a wite screen. Is it because I’m on Ipad?
I hadn’t noticed that the database that stores all of our articles and forum posts was full. That’s been fixed and your Ipad posting should return to normal.
I just tried again and it just gave me an error XD
Lightwave Tuning in Constellars?
Me again lol
What do you guys think about the spell “mind trust” in hieratics?
Synching for 8-11’s is what i plan on doing in my chaos hieratics build. What tuners would you guys suggest I run to achieve my goal? I’ve kinda been forced to consider synchro summoning in my decks since it looks like we getting more synchro support.Seemed like they were in time out for a while, but it looks like they are back and better than ever!
Love the podcast. Keep up the amazing work! And Thanks!
