YCS Lima – Bounty Hunters

Before you ask, Dino Rabbit won YCS Lima, congratulations to Hector Delgado. But, that’s not what I wanted to talk about. What I wanted to talk about was:

Bounty Hunters
During YCS Lima, 10 Duelists were given the designation as Bounty Hunters. They can be randomly selected or chosen (if they exhibit extraordinary Yugioh-ness). This designation enters them into a pretty cool system.

Each round, these special duelists get 4 packs added to their “Bounty Pile.” If they win their match, they will automatically be awarded 2 packs from that stash. But if they lose, their opponent will get EVERY PACK currently in their stash! SOO cool!

For the mentally indifferent, if you beat a Bounty Hunter on round 5, after they have gone 4-0, you will get 12 packs!

This is the first time I’ve seen a feature like this, let alone during a YCS. If it’s been done before, awesome! If not, it’s a great idea! All I’m saying is: more epic stuff like this.

Deck Building Tips: Testing Those Scenarios

I’m generally known here, at the Yugioh Card Game Podcast, for coming up with random maybe-not-so-good ideas (haha). When deck building, I often times throw caution to the wind and just build.

When I think of a “Deck Idea”, often times it’s nothing more than a “Situation.” I have a specific action, play or “set-up” that I want to achieve. At this point in the deck-building process, I’m generally not concerned with what the rest of the deck may do. I’m just looking to achieve that “Situation.”

Koa’ki Meiru Meet Karakuri

Play-Style

This deck is a Casual-Competitive style deck. Basically, you can contend really well with some rouge style decks, and maybe even get lucky against some highly competitive decks. Urnight and Powerhand are huge beaters by themselves and, when combined with the Karakuri combo, get into the gravy.

Ten of My Favorite Cards

It’s hard to pick favorites when your staring down over 4500 individual cards and counting. These ten cards represent a little about where I come from as a duelist and what I like about the game. It’s a lot less technical than you would expect. My favorites are cards that are unique in what they mean to me personally.
