The ghoulish subject of the undead gives rise to another discussion on Zombies. This main dish is served with news, and a side of listener comments and questions.
Thearioh Thursday 02 – Archetypes
This week I bring up a short discussion on Archtypes and some of their benefits to duelists. The audio is not in-sync with my lips, try to avoid staring directly at them…if you can!
Lightsworns and Rank 3s
Lightsworns and Rank 3s
Raw power, that’s what Lightsworns had on their side during their reign at the top. It wasn’t luck that won them victory, it was their sheer overpowering advantage. A lot has changed since those fabled days, extra deck monsters encroach on their territory, speading their black and white chaos. Do Lightsworns have what it takes to adapt to this changing landscape? Perhaps with one, Lumina the Lightsworn Summoner, their light will shine a little brighter?
Gishkis Part 4 – Gishki Support – HEROs
In my last article, I talked about the Ritual Djinn monsters and how their accessibility provides Gishkis lock-down and field control effects. This article will focus on HEROS, specifically the extra force they can bring to Gishkis.
Gishkis Part 3 – Gishki Support – The Ritual Djinns
The Djinn of Rituals monsters are an archetype whose main goal is to be used as material for ritual summons. They can all be utilized from the hand, the field, and even banished from the graveyard when used as ritual material. This allows them to be tributed at least twice, once from the hand or field, and once from the graveyard.
In this article, we’ll discuss the different ways in which Gishkis can use them. However, I will not be discussing the Level 1 Djinn Disserere of Rituals because it has extremely low playability with Evigishki Mind Augus and Evigishki Soul Ogre. Gishki Vanity would provide adequate protection, is searchable, recoverable, and can be used to summon Mind Augus effectively. So, without further ado…
Gishkis Part 2 – Gishki Rituals – GenForce through HA5

Ritual Spells: Gishki Aquamirror
The current Gishki ritual monsters, and their current ritual spell, give you a taste of things to come. In this article, we’ll talk about some of the strategy behind the Gishki ritual monsters and their great ritual spell, Gishki Aquamirror.
Deck Building Tips: Testing Those Scenarios
I’m generally known here, at the Yugioh Card Game Podcast, for coming up with random maybe-not-so-good ideas (haha). When deck building, I often times throw caution to the wind and just build.
When I think of a “Deck Idea”, often times it’s nothing more than a “Situation.” I have a specific action, play or “set-up” that I want to achieve. At this point in the deck-building process, I’m generally not concerned with what the rest of the deck may do. I’m just looking to achieve that “Situation.”
Card Review – Evoltile Odonto

LV2//Fire//Reptile//500//1200
When this card is Normal Summoned: You can Special Summon 1 “Evolsaur” monster from your hand.
- Summons 4 Monsters from Photon Shockwave
- Summons 2 Monsters From Order of Chaos
Overview:
Evoltile Odonto is a somewhat frustrating monster from the Evol Archetype that asks you to invest heavily onto the field. At present, with Photon Shockwave as the latest release, the climate is not quite temperate enough for starting a play with Odonto.
With 500 attack and 1200 defense, it is not a monster that anyone would want to summon or set without good reason. Since its effect leaves it vulnerable to attack, and therefore punishment, one would expect a reasonable return for such an investment. The results are somewhat worth the investment, let’s take a look.
How To Shine In All This Chaos
As a duelist, I feel that the current state of the game is both the most favorable time to play in and the most overwhelming. We have plays that can end games by doing 8000 life points. We have Synchro Summoning and Xyz Summoning, two powerful game mechanics that seem very unique to our game and add to its overall flavor. We have a card pool of over 4,500 cards, with only a handful that are forbidden or restricted. We’re getting new archetypes and cards frequently, and old cards are becoming more and more playable. It is truly a great time to be a part of the game.
That being said, how does one manage all the activity going on? Between building competitive decks and dealing with a tough and adaptive meta, where does one find the time to pioneer into uncharted territory? There is a quote from one of my favorite movies that I believe best applies here: “Who has time? Who has time? But then if we do not ever take time, how can we ever have time?.”
